“THE NYMPHS”
During Milan Fashion Week SS26, DURAZZI MILANO presents The Nymphs.
Large antique canvases, staged with contemporary sobriety. Steel cables suspend neoclassical landscapes, Caravaggesque skies, wild nature, and female nudes rendered as anatomical stud- ies. The setting is aseptic, industrial. The art is intense, figurative, and authentic.
From this tension, the SS26 collection is born: a clash between ancient imagery and a contempo- rary vision. It is in this liminal space that something happens. The painted figures come to life: the nymphs detach from the canvases, infiltrate the environment, merge with the nature they evoke, and acquire form, body, and identity. They step out of the painting and rewrite history.
The contemplated object becomes an active subject—a free spirit. Contemporary nymphs, embod- iments of strength and grace, move between art and rebellion, between aesthetic rigour and subtle vibration.
They exude lucid defiance, dissonant elegance, a distant echo of disruption. They inhabit garments as extensions of themselves: not conforming, but expressing.
Tailoring is deconstructed: lightweight jackets inspired by menswear, deep-cut double-breasted vests, wide trousers, and billowing parkas in beaten viscose. The garments flow like water.
Drapery becomes movement: a wave that contrasts and converses with geometric construction. An instinctive flow that counters formal precision. In this dynamic, the collection’s identity is revealed.
Leather is the beating heart of DURAZZI MILANO: evoking saddlery, it is raw, alive, studded, with a crumpled paper effect. Exotic leathers and animal prints—found in both fabrics and fil coupé jac- quards—recall the wild, symbolic spirit of old-master canvases. Stretch nappa gaiters with mane-like fringe echo the iconic silhouette of the DURAZZI MILANO boot, paired with oversized slippers or two- tone riding boots, fuse tradition and modernity.
Outerwear, inspired by uniforms, is reinterpreted through softness and flow. Ivory cotton trench coats and car coats are enriched with leather details: collars, straps, trims. The collection plays with contrasts: raw denim and metallic leathers, black raffia and jewelled ac- cents. These dual-material combinations—on shoes, skirts, and collars—create strong graphic ef- fects and taut harmonies. Deconstructed tailored jackets intensify this duality: structure and release, tradition and rupture.
Metal becomes a counterpoint—both ornament and function, both technical and symbolic. Buckles, studs, and charms accumulate like primitive jewellery or industrial fragments. The D-ring, the brand’s iconic three-dimensional signature, appears throughout: closing totes, holding drapery, adorning shoes and garments like a seal of identity.
The palette spans natural, sophisticated tones: anthracite grey, beige, sand, and dove grey. Ac- cents include scarlet red and animalier motifs in black and white, orange/black, and beige/black. Light meets shadow, memory and modernity. This is a radical, artisanal collection. An aesthetic of tension and transformation. A visual narrative that bridges eras, disciplines, and imaginaries.
